Our story · Since 1939
Eighty-odd years of
looking after Chattanooga's clothes.
We didn't set out to be the area's oldest dry cleaner. We just kept showing up, garment after garment, decade after decade. Here's how a wartime laundry on the edge of Fort Oglethorpe became this area's finest dry cleaners.
Chickamauga Laundry & Cleaners, the fleet, circa 1939It began with a cavalry post and a promise.
In 1939, Chickamauga Laundry opened to serve the soldiers of the 6th Cavalry at Fort Oglethorpe. The work was simple and the standard was high: clothes came back clean, pressed, and on time, every time.
When the first retail store opened in East Ridge in 1953, the name changed to Kleen-A-Matic, but the promise didn't. Three generations later, we're still locally owned and operated, and we still treat every order like it's going back to someone who'll notice the difference.
The timeline
From one laundry to a Chattanooga fixture.

Seven locations

Still locally owned
Three stores, the same family standard, and the conveniences, drive-thru, drop-boxes, same-day service, that keep Chattanooga coming back.
What hasn't changed
